The Brow Lift is a surgical procedure for facial rejuvenation, softening expression lines and wrinkles in the forehead area. The surgeon lifts the skin and tissues of the upper face with the aid of a high-precision endoscopic camera, resulting in a younger and refreshed appearance.
The technique involves making small incisions so that the ligaments and muscles are repositioned in such a way that the face gains a younger appearance, minimizing aging, reducing lines, and possibly arching the eyebrows, with practically imperceptible scars.
Due to the smaller incisions, patients undergoing a brow lift with endoscopic approach experience a shorter recovery period, returning to their normal activities sooner and with more lasting results compared to more commonly performed methods.
Combined techniques
Before opting for a brow lift, it is essential to talk to the surgeon to align expectations and possible results. The brow lift brings great results when performed individually, but it is possible to go further and renew the overall appearance by combining it with other procedures.
Some of the main techniques often combined with the brow lift are: the facelift, which rejuvenates the face area, and blepharoplasty for the eye area, thus the results can be further enhanced.
Endotine® Forehead Device
One of the technologies we use in our surgeries is the Endotine® Forehead Device, which is an innovative solution specifically designed to lift the forehead tissue during the brow lift surgery. Its unique structure provides multiple points of contact with the forehead tissue, creating a more uniform and smooth distribution of holding force.
Other options, such as screws and sutures, usually provide only one point of contact that can tear the soft tissues, adversely affecting the reliability of the eyebrow lift.
Post-surgery care
Recovery after a brow lift via endoscopy involves a simpler postoperative period compared to more traditional techniques. In ten days, most patients can already resume their normal activities.
In the first few days, it is common to see bruising and swelling in the incision area, so the recommendation is to keep the head elevated whenever possible, applying cold compresses to help reduce swelling. Some patients experience headaches between 24 and 48 hours after the surgery. The most visible signs of the surgery should disappear after three weeks, and normal hair growth will resume in the following months.
Among the recommendations, it is worth noting that the patient can only wash their hair after three days and should take care of the dressings as instructed by the doctor, avoiding the use of makeup for a few days. It is also necessary to avoid physical exertion, such as lowering the head, for example. Avoiding sun exposure is also important to protect the scar.
In cases of pain or discomfort, talk to the doctor about analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications that can be used.
