Doctor of Medicine (PhD) from the prestigious University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil, and Doctor of Medicine (PhD) from the University of Hamburg (UKE – Universitätsklinik Eppendorf Hamburg) in Germany, Dr. Thomas built his career at the two most respected institutions in the medical field.

He is also the only plastic surgeon in Brazil with a specialist title from the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS), after passing his specialist exam in Brussels, Belgium, and Bern, Switzerland, to obtain his certificate. Dr. Thomas Benson holds specialist titles in Brazil, being a full member of SBCP and also recognized by the German government.

His training includes residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas of USP, postgraduate studies in microsurgery at USP, one of the largest reference centers in facial and head and neck reconstructions in Latin America, completed a medical residency at Bogenhausen Hospital in Munich, Germany, where he was responsible for the preceptorship of training that year, served as a plastic surgeon at Bogenhausen Hospital, and later specialized and trained with several renowned surgeons in Brazil and the USA, where he honed his skills in facial surgery techniques, including the Deep Plane Facelift.

Dr. Thomas is a member of the medical staff at Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital, Sírio Libanês Hospital, and Moriah Hospital, and today operates every day from Monday to Saturday, performing seven surgeries per week at Brazil's only 6-star hospital, Vila Nova Star (SP), a top reference in highly secure and technological infrastructure.
